     Morning Star Martial Arts is an independent studio dedicated to providing the best in martial arts instruction. Our program is based on a system known as American Kenpo. American Kenpo was developed by Mr. Ed Parker who opened the first commercial karate school in the US in 1954. Mr. Parker continued to refine his system for more than 30 years. Ed Parker was a great innovator, and his mind was always open to new ideas.

    The founder and head instructor at Morning Star, Ms. Carol Mannarino holds a 2nd degree black belt in American Kenpo and has been teaching the art since 1996. She opened Morning Star Martial Arts in 2004, and has not only taught at the studio, but also offsite at schools and after school programs. She continues to pursue a lifelong interest in martial arts and is currently studying Ketsugo Jujutsu in addition to American Kenpo. Her background also includes Judo, Bujinkan Ninjutsu and Amok.
