Arnis, also known as Kali or Escrima, is a weapons based martial art that originated in the Philipines. Among the weapons used are the stick, staff, sword, knife and rope.
Arnis can be used for self protection by employing everyday objects such as walking sticks, umbrellas, scarves, belts or even rolled up magazines. The moves can also be adapted to empty hand against an attacker using a weapon.
Phil Duldulao, who began his study of Arnis as a child in the Philipines, will be conducting this class. In addition to his continued study of Brewster Arnis, Mr. Duldulao also studies Ketsugo Jujutsu with Peter Freedman and holds a black belt in American Kenpo.
